Donation to Cancer Research

made in association with Braiswick Photographic Co. Ltd

Once again this year, as well as raising money for school funds, the value of school photograph sales generated a donation to Cancer Research. As a result, Braiswick Photographic Co. Ltd presented us with a cheque in the sum of £54.00, which the school has forwarded to Cancer Research, and a certificate.

Children In Need Day, Friday 18th November

Children at Lawford Primary School enjoyed Mrs Edwards famous Pudsey Bear biscuits and wore spotty accessories, in line with this year's Children In Need 'spotacular' theme. Mrs Edwards also put on a special lunch.

The sale of biscuits raised £186 for Children In Need.

Sport Relief Day - Friday 18th March

Children in school wishing to participate were invited to dress in appropriate sports clothes for the day, in return for a minimum £1 donation.  Children ran or walked a mile around the school field and Mrs Edwards made healthy fruit snacks.

As always, Sport Relief Day was well supported and donations totalled £197.25!

FS/KS1 Nativity, 8 & 10 December 2015

Collections from our Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 productions raised an amazing £300.07 of which £150 will be donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital.

We are very pleased to support this charity again especially as we know that it has, again, played an important part in another of our pupil's lives.

Operation Christmas Child (Samaritan’s Purse) Shoebox Appeal 2015

Our school has successfully taken part in this project for many years and, once again, we invited individual families to take responsibility for completing a box and bringing this to school.

The filled shoeboxes have been collected by a local organiser who will take them to the collection centre. They told us that the boxes would be going to children in Belarus.

The children carried their boxes out to the collector's van and counted as they were handed over.

The total number of filled shoeboxes donated this year was 125!  Well done everyone!

Thank you.

Children in Need Day,  Friday 13th November 2015

We made the Champions of Change Children in Need day higher profile this year by having a ‘Pyjama Day’ and of course the usual guests of children’s teddies.  We asked for a voluntary contribution of £1 per child which included a famous Pudsey Bear biscuit, baked by Mrs Edwards and her team.  We ended the day by having a whole school Pudsey Bear assembly.  Donations totalled £335.

NSPCC

Sept/Oct 2015

Thank you for taking part in the challenge and supporting this event.  We have again been amazed at the generosity of our families and raised £1613.69! Cathy Couchman returned to collect sponsor forms and to give children their badges.   Mrs Couchman sends her sincere thanks on behalf of the NSPCC and talked through how this money would be spent to benefit children in our area. Thank you, this is very much appreciated.
