Spirituality is an important part of enabling our children to become well regulated and mindful.
At Lawford we believe that spirituality is the building of the inner life of a person (adult or child), giving opportunities for awe, an ability to be still and understand themselves, reflect on the world and to develop an awareness of the common bonds which are greater than themselves. Opportunities for stillness and joy are especially important. Life is incredibly busy and with every second filled and we believe we need to give children opportunities to be still. Stillness can help build joy. We believe happiness is externally driven but joy comes from within and becomes intrinsic to the person.

We have recently adopted the concept of 'Windows, Mirrors and Doors' as a way of children exploring spirituality and as part of our Lawford families session on 5th December this year we introduced this model and used a range of prayer space activities to build understanding.
