Collective Worship

Daily collective worship at Lawford C of E Primary School aims to provide the opportunity for pupils to:

  • worship God,

  • consider spiritual and moral issues and to explore their own beliefs;

  • participate and respond, whether through active involvement in the presentation of worship or through listening and joining in the worship offered;

  • develop community spirit, promote a common ethos and shared values, and reinforce positive attitudes.

Presently there is no  Curate in Charge at St Mary's Lawford.  The church is part of the local benefice as well as two other 'Cross Reach' Churches in  Mistley and Bradfield. Representatives from the churches try to come into school each week to lead Thurday's collective worship.  The children visit St Mary’s Churches at Lawford and Mistley during the year.  Work from the children is also displayed in the church. Child led worship is a feature of the school and children deliver assemblies confidently and are reflective and sensitive to the ethos of a C of E school.
