From 1 April 2022 all mid year applications (every application other than for a September Reception intake) must be made directly to the school using both the Mid Year Application (MYA) form and a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) in case of a waiting list. The school's policies and forms can be found in the documents section below. Applications should be emailed to:email@example.com
The admissions process for children starting school in Reception the following September, starts in November each year. Parents applying for a September Reception intake place must complete the online form on the Essex admissions website and also our SIF.
We now have the dates of the events for prospective Rec23 intake parents and children and parents are welcome to attend as many or all of them as they so wish - booking is required and, for reasons of practicality and safety, numbers will be limited.
Parent's Evening Meeting: Tuesday 1st November at 6.00 - 7.30pm - tours of the school buildings by some of our Year 6 pupils, meet the staff, ask questions, a short presentation around 7pm and time for any further questions after that. Adults only.
Daytime Tours: The head will show small, pre-booked groups around the school during the school day to enable parents to see the school 'in action' when the children are here and ask any questions. All tours commence at 10am and last around 30-40 minutes. The dates available are:
Mondays, 10th Oct, 7th Nov (full), 21st Nov (full), 5th Dec (full), 9th Jan
Thursdays, 6th Oct, 20th Oct, 17th Nov (full), 1st Dec, 15th Dec, 12th January
'Stay and Play' taster Sessions: Wednesday 2nd November - there are two sessions, 9.00-9.30am and 9.45-10.15am, children visit our Reception classrooms (accompanied by a parent) and experience some of the activities that take place.
Please contact the school office if you would like to book a space on any (or all) of these.
Pre-school age children
In November each year we hold an Open Evening for the parents of prospective pupils and “Lawford Experience” taster sessions give pre-school pupils the chance to join in some activities that reflect Foundation Stage class learning.
Staff are always pleased to show prospective pupils and their parents around the school and an appointment can be made through the school office.
Children already of school age
If you are moving into the area and/or considering transferring your child from another primary school, information about availability in your child's year group is available here.
Applications must be made directly to the School using the forms below.
If a place can be offered, it is expected that the child will start within 10 school days of the offer being made, if for the current term, or at the start of the term for which the application has been made.
Please note: Applications for the start of the next academic year or the next term cannot be dealt with until the half term prior to the requested admission date.
An application for Autumn Term (September) will not be accepted until the preceding summer half term holiday (May/June).
An application for Spring Term (January) will not be accepted until the preceding autumn half term holiday (October).
An application for Summer Term (April) will not be accepted until the preceding spring half term holiday (February).
In line with our statutory duties and the Schools Admissions Code we have made a minor change to our admissions arrangements for 2024-2025 which we must now consult on ahead of the changes being determined.
These changes are to the admissions under priority 3. Changing from Lawford Church to ‘Cross Reach Churches’
