Lawford C of E Primary School

High quality learning and caring together in an encouraging Christian environment.

The Sound of Lawford Summer Concert - Annual Music Event June 27th 2018

Our two summer music concerts took place yesterday with a performance in the afternoon for our younger children and an evening one for our older children. Both were magical events which showcased an ever increasing range of talents across the school. Thank you to every child who took part and confidently performed to an audience creating an event which showed just how important music is at Lawford Primary School. A special thank you to Mrs Woods who organised and led these events ensuring a successful and positive outcome for every child who took part.

Fluteability and Music Assembly

Sweeting Swing Band Visit Lawford Tuesday 18th July 2017!

5live perform at Lawford Primary School! Friday 14th July 2017

5live is a project to introduce primary school children to traditional woodwind instruments through a 45 minute concert (involving a range of music from different genres) by a professional wind quintet, followed by an instrument zoo - this is where the children will get a few minutes to try every instrument and this aspect is done in classes.

The members of 5live are a group of friends who are all experienced musicians, teachers and performers, and includes a familiar face - Mrs Arber who has been giving woodwind lessons to children at Lawford Primary for around 15 years! They are passionate about every child’s right to have the opportunity to hear professional musicians and to have the opportunity to learn an instrument.

The whole school watched the band in assembly and were captivated by the concert. They enjoyed the interaction and KS2 were lucky to follow this up with workshops where they got to play a range of instruments. Thank you 5live!

'It was a pleasure to visit Lawford , all the children were a credit to your school.' Andy

The Young Voices 2017 at the O2 in London

Lawford Young Voices Choir performed for the 6th time at London's O2 arena. They supported Natalie Williams who is a soul/jazz artist, singer-songwriter and who has released 7 critically acclaimed albums. They also performed along with 'The Beatbox Collective' who are always a favourite. And they also got to support Tabby Callaghan from the X Factor! The children were amazing as ever and a great time was had by all.
