Music
Lawford has a range of musical opportunities for children to enjoy throughout their school journey. The school uses the Charanga scheme of work produced by Essex Music Services. Children from year 2 upwards (though priority is given to KS2 if we are over subscribed) can enrol for instrument lessons on a range of instruments including, woodwind, brass, keyboard, strings and drums.
In year 3 we have tuition by a peripatetic music teacher on either ukuleles, record or toots ( a type of 'learner' flute). The school has a choir which every year takes part in the Mistley 'Magic of Christmas' festival and also Young Voices at the O2
We have two choirs. We have a junior choir for Y1, Y2 and Y3 and a Young Voices choir for Y4, Y5 and Y6.
